What happened

The request did not finish inside the server’s per-request time limit: 60 seconds for a standard or premium-tier request, 15 seconds for a free-tier one. The 15-second limit also applies on every endpoint to requests from anonymous, crawler, or unentitled Radar sessions, including Smart Search. It fires when a request’s own work, usually a database query, runs long: an unusually broad filter, a cold cache, or a database under load. Smart Search’s submit and read endpoints use a longer 120-second limit instead of the standard 60 seconds, to cover the LLM routing and answer-generation work those requests do.

How to fix

Retry with a narrower request: a smaller limit, a tighter date window, or a more specific filter. If every request to an endpoint times out however narrow it is, the endpoint itself is degraded; check or contact support.
