# particle_company_list_people

> A company's people, leadership first, a page at a time — filter by role class or title.

List the people at one company, leadership first, a page at a time. The order is the chief executive, then founders, chairs and presidents, the rest of the C-suite, board members, EVPs, SVPs, VPs, directors, managers, and everyone else, with the longest-serving first within a level. Each entry gives the person slug and their title at this company. Every page carries the total across all pages.

Use it to go past the 25-person preview that [`particle_company_get`](https://docs.particle.pro/mcp/tools/companies/company-get) returns with `include: ["people"]` (that preview ends with a line pointing here when the company has more), or to narrow a large company with `role`, `title` or `name`. For one company's profile and its leadership at a glance, call `particle_company_get` instead. To find a person by name, use [`particle_person_resolve`](https://docs.particle.pro/mcp/tools/people/person-resolve).

## Inputs

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `company_slug` | string | yes | — | Company slug (e.g. `"nvidia"`), domain (e.g. `"nvidia.com"`), or canonical ID, as `particle_company_get` takes. |
| `role` | enum | no | — | Only people whose title falls in this role class. `executive` is the leadership class: founders, chairs, presidents, VPs, directors and heads whose title names none of the other classes' functions, plus every officer (any Chief … Officer or President) whatever function the title names. So a Chief Marketing Officer is kept, but a VP of Marketing is `marketing`. `marketing`, `brand`, `partnerships`, `media_advertising`, `communications` and `growth` are the functions a sponsorship pitch would reach; `other` is a title that matches none of them. |
| `title` | string | no | — | Case-insensitive substring of the title at this company (e.g. `"chief"`, `"founder"`, `"investor relations"`). Combines with `role`. |
| `name` | string | no | — | Case-insensitive substring of the person's name (e.g. `"huang"`), up to 100 characters, to find someone at a large company. Combines with the other filters, and `total` counts what it keeps. To find a person by name across every company, use [`particle_person_resolve`](https://docs.particle.pro/mcp/tools/people/person-resolve). |
| `sort` | enum | no | `"seniority"` | `seniority`: leadership first, as above. `recent`: the most recently started first. |
| `include_past` | boolean | no | `false` | Also list people who held a role here and no longer do, marked `(former)`, after everyone current. |
| `limit` | integer | no | `25` | People per page, 1–100. |
| `cursor` | string | no | — | The `cursor` from the previous page. Pass the same filters and sort with it. |
| `output_format` | enum | no | `"markdown"` | `json` returns the structured payload (`company_slug`, `total`, `people[]` with `slug`, `name`, `title`, `former`, then `has_more` and `cursor`). |

A board seat means a board member or an independent or non-executive director, not an advisory or editorial board; VPs include managing directors and general managers; directors include heads, and a chief who is not an officer, such as a Chief Scientist or a Bureau Chief. The level is read from the title by keyword, so treat the order as a ranking aid, not an org chart.

Pages are stable: every order ends on a unique key, so walking the cursor never repeats or skips a person while the data is unchanged.

## Output

A markdown document with an H2 `People at <company_slug>`, `**Total:**` (people across all pages) and `**Showing:**` (people on this page) KV lines, then one bullet per person formatted `Name (slug) — title`, with `(former)` after the title of someone who no longer holds the role. When there are more pages, a closing paragraph gives the `cursor` to pass.

Sample (`company_slug="nvidia", limit=6`):

```markdown theme={"dark"}
## People at nvidia
**Total:** 120
**Showing:** 6
- Jensen Huang (jensen-huang) — Founder and CEO
- Chris A. Malachowsky (chris-a-malachowsky) — Co-Founder
- Timothy S. Teter (timothy-s-teter-3) — Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary
- Colette Kress (colette-kress) — Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
- Donald F. Robertson Jr. (donald-f-robertson-3) — Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer
- Alison Berkley Wagonfeld (alison-berkley-wagonfeld) — Chief Marketing Officer
More people available. Pass cursor="r.4gfFCA", with the same filters and sort, to fetch the next page.
```

## Example

```text theme={"dark"}
Agent calls: particle_company_list_people {
  "company_slug": "mongodb.com",
  "role": "executive",
  "title": "chief"
}
```

## Errors

| Code | When |
| - | - |
| `missing_parameter` | `company_slug` is empty. |
| `invalid_parameter` | `role` or `sort` is not one of the values above, or `name` is longer than 100 characters. |
| `not_found` | The company does not resolve. Re-resolve it with [`particle_company_resolve`](https://docs.particle.pro/mcp/tools/companies/company-resolve). |
